I'm running pptpd v1.2.0-b3 under SuSE 9.0. Everything looks fine, I can login quite often with the log showing the following messages like
Sep 19 20:34:27 router pppd[14035]: Connect: ppp1 <--> /dev/pts/12
Sep 19 20:34:27 router pptpd[14034]: CTRL: Received PPTP Control Message (type: 15)
Sep 19 20:34:27 router pptpd[14034]: CTRL: Got a SET LINK INFO packet with standard ACCMs
Sep 19 20:34:27 router pptpd[14034]: GRE: Discarding duplicate packet
Sep 19 20:34:29 router pptpd[14034]: CTRL: Received PPTP Control Message (type: 15)
Sep 19 20:34:29 router pptpd[14034]: CTRL: Ignored a SET LINK INFO packet with real ACCMs!
Sep 19 20:34:29 router pppd[14035]: MSCHAP-v2 peer authentication succeeded for mbchdagsc7xxxplxxx2zcg6324ch
But quite often can establish a connection but user authentication doesn't finish and can't establish the VPN connection. The log show messages like
Sep 19 20:36:04 router pppd[15283]: Connect: ppp1 <--> /dev/pts/12
