I'm trying to use Poptop to allow users in to a LAN. As noted above, it's impossible to give them transparent LAN addresses as Windows Server does.
I don't want users using the default gateway and having all of their traffic going through the VPN. But if I (as a client) disable that option, I have no route to the rest of the network - only the point-to-point network direct to the box running Poptop.
Is there a way - without making all my users add a route, which in any case may not work because they won't always have the same PPP IP address on their side - to push a route to clients so that traffic destined for the LAN will go via the VPN interface?
Or is there any other way of solving this problem?
Thanks,
David
