Hi Dave, On the Class::DBI list we've been talking about caching issues. One thing we've been discussing is how to sync caches. Alzabo supports sync using several methods, including an RDBMS, and storage in most of the same methods. Can you tell us a little about how these have worked out in practice? Are there particular combinations that you recommend or don't recommend? Also, how valuable do you think it is to use multiple caches with a sync system versus using a single global cache? I'm assuming you chose to do it the latter way because you expect to get better performance from a local file or memory cache, but I see some significant downsides to it and would like to try a shared cache, probably like your RDBMS backed storage. - Perrin |
