it would be better to get a popup box for the allele interface
with the already preselected genes as only the alleles need adding
(this bit can be slightly later)

and how about some slightly-more-out-there ideas?

Maybe also split the "Matches" table into two? One for genotypes already in use in the session, and the other for genotypes found in the database but not yet used in the session -- might make it clearer why they don't all have the same links along the right side of the table.
change "Matches ..." to "Matching genotypes", then show two tables (or one table with two clear parts):
"Genotypes used in this session"
"More genotypes available from the database"

Select a genotype to add a phenotype annotation?
and we need a link it the matches are not the genotype you require
so maybe
OR "Add a new genotype" (linking to the interface to add)

Returning to the original question of what to do with a match ...
For alleles already "in use", I recommend the same changes as for the genotype management page
For other matches, change "Add to session ..." to "Use this genotype"
(I'm sure I replied to this but I can't see it now. Sorry if you see this twice. Stupid Sourceforge)
That happened automatically because it the same code as the management page.
Done.

I put this on priority 6. As we are testing we con think about the preferred option and decide.
I think that's a good plan. It also means that there can be a different help text above each table.
I went ahead and did that. We can always revert the change if it doesn't work out.

Done?
Possibly, but I haven't actually changed any of the instructions about what to do next, which was the original suggestion in the ticket.
