FYI, the instructions for building Polyworld have been substantially simplified and revised at <http://beanblossom.in.us/larryy/BuildingPolyworld.html>. Initially Snow Leopard presented some real challenges, and wanting to have a common environment for my Intro to Programming class's Python and Python as used in the Polyworld data analysis presented additional challenges. But in the end I was able to streamline things a fair bit and make everything play reasonably well together. On a less pleasant front, SourceForge is no longer forwarding source code-change email messages, for reasons I haven't had time to look into yet. This has been going on for a while now. Development proceeds apace, but until this gets fixed, the changes won't be seen in email, I'm sorry to say. Huh, I wonder if this message will get through... Let me know if it doesn't. :) - larryy P.S. Someone finally got Polyworld to build on Windows. Unfortunately, it only works with a modified snapshot of the source base, not current top-of-tree source, so we're only part way there. Links to details on that BuildingPolyworld page. |
