The Qt preferences for these windows *are* consulted at start up, and perform that function correctly, setting window open/closed, position, and size attributes correctly on launch. What isn't working is an updating of these preferences when the user manually drags or resizes a window. Not sure if open/close state is correctly maintained. Since Beril the Dwarf is now a developer on Polyworld, I think I know who this bug will be assigned to... ;) (If he's willing.)
