- summary: support for XSLT cofiguration --> full support for editing XSLT documents
Support for XSLT would close a large gap in current capabilities versus potential capabilities. XSLT is taking off big time this year. People are going to look for an XSLT awareness, not see it, and move on to another XML editor. My guess is if they are corporate, they would go with XML Spy. Though with software budgets being what they are these days they might go with something cheaper with an XSLT template if that is all they wanted to do.
Personally the XML file types I seem to do a ton of editing on is: ANT build files, XSLT for generating HTML and XSL-FO, and my own document types. For the latter, which are relatively simple, I can just use the DTD. XSLT files are not very simple though and so the display template support would make a difference.
Granted the contents of an XSLT file containing other XML document types elements might be tricky thing for which to create a definition. But if there was way to get it done it would be fantastic. Even if it just supported XSLT plus XSL-FO it would still be great, I think.
I notice that XSL-FO support is already present and XSL-FO has a much larger vocabulary of elements and attributes than XSLT does.
If good XSLT support was added into Pollo's display templates library it would be great.
