For those of us who use iPods, it would be great to
have Podracer be able to convert the MP3 downloads to
AAC bookmarkable format.

For those not familiar with iPods, when a file is in
AAC Bookmarkable format, it allows you to listen for a
while, turn the iPod off or listen to another file,
and come back to the original file in the same place
that you left off last time. This is nice for longer
files, such as Podcasts and audio books. I typically
listen to podcasts while driving to and from work, and
my commute is shorter than the length of some podcasts.
I can listen to the first part of the cast, listen to
music at work, then continue on with the podcast on the
way home.

It appears there is a program called faac that can
convert them to .m4a files, and could probably be tied
into podracer. From what I have read, it appears that
naming the file .m4b instead will add the bookmark feature.

If you don't want to tie Podcaster to one specific
program, could you proivde a way to call an external
program with a configurable command upon completion of
a download? That way I could call any audio conversion
or any other maintenance script I want, such as
renaming the file.

Anyway, I haven't looked at the code yet so I don't
know how difficult it would be to do, but hopefully it
is something you can consider for your next version.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Jeremy
