While drafting an explanation I came to the decision that this text will be too long and complex for a note in the definitions section. Thus, I suggest to put a reference into the note linking to the introductory section of the standard where we describe the two different approaches. A VIRTUAL TERMINAL is represented as a VMD in the CONTAINMENT TREE. The network representation of an HF SURGICAL EQUIPMENT may contain multiple VIRTUAL TERMINALs.
Note - In some properties, cases, or functionalities, the VIRTUAL TERMINAL might cover aspects of both, ACTIVE ACCESSORY and ACTIVE OUTPUT TERMINAL.
