There is a shortcut
# rdev -r /mnt/floppy/boot/vmlinuz 49152
that can be performed on any compressed kernel you care to use and which makes
load_ramdisk=1 prompt_ramdisk=1
superfluous. The kernel is simply said to use both of these by default, due to
49152 = 2^14 + 2^15.
Should you ever like to turn them (or it) off the booting of grub should then include
load_ramdisk=0 prompt_ramdisk=0.
