So... I got a message somewhat like this: >From: SourceForge.net <no...@sl...> >This is a reminder to reconfirm your subscriptions to these mailing lists: > > png-mng-announce > png-mng-misc > png-mng-implement > >If you are still interested in receiving emails from these SourceForge project lists, >you must reconfirm your subscriptions by July 30. > >Please click here to reconfirm your subscriptions: > >https://sourceforge.net/ mailman/reconfirm?confirm=f9785ef1-7613-5992-6ef6-87ef97fea700&email=john. cunningham.bowler%40gmail.com > >Thanks, >The SourceForge Team >A Slashdot Media Company So obviously I didn't click on that link (or, indeed, the one I received), but I went to sourceforge.net and tried to subscribe using a *different* email (jb...@ac...) and I found this requirement: >I agree to receive correspondence from SourceForge.net. I understand that I can withdraw my consent at anytime. Please refer to our Terms of Use <http://slashdotmedia.com/terms-of-use> and Privacy Policy <https://slashdotmedia.com/privacy-statement/> or Contact Us <https://sourceforge.net/support> for more details. I can't do that; I told sourceforge some years ago (shortly after they requested that I indemnify them against lawsuits on the free software I had previously deposited on sourceforge) that they must cancel my account (they didn't) delete any software they needed indemnification for (they didn't, I think that would have included libpng) and, basically, foad. So I thought I would post this before July 30 just so that everyone understands why I just disappeared. -- John Bowler <joh...@gm...> +1 (541) 450-9885 PO BOX 3151 KERBY OR 97531-3151 USA |
