I suspect the same would happen with .txz For GraphicsMagick I had been planning to dump tar.bz2 entirely but retained it after I discovered that 'rpmbuild' wanted it as input. The compression is the same but the format is different and many distributions will not yet have the required lzma-utils to support it.
