#1065 null pointer when choosing rule in preferences

I am using version 4.0.0.* of the plugin.

I tried to use a rule set file to configure the rules used in a project. After I switched back to 'Use local rules', every time I am click a check box to enable one of the rules in the rule list I get a null pointer exception. If I click 'OK' in it, I can continue working and my selection is saved.

I have had the old version (3.) of the plugin installed but uninstalled it before I installed the now 4. version.

This bug occurs both on Indigo and Juno.
