I just wanted to publically thank Andrew for fixing the colour map changing
bug in the png and jpeg devices (along with all the other upgrades he did to
the gd driver). As I understand the fix, this was done by decoupling the
previous one-to-one correspondence between the PLplot colour map and the
libgd colour map. Any changes to the PLplot colour maps are now reflected
as additions to the libgd colour map rather than a replacement of the
previous libgd colour map values. This allows the PLplot colour maps to
change without clobbering the colours of previous plotting done with
a different colour map.
