The problem must be the one I said, a non-existing Qhull library in the 
system; in that case a warning message should be printed and the second 
and third plot should be flat. To reproduce, configure with  
--without-qhull.

Volker, can you please check that in the config.summary file is a line 
that says:
   with_qhull:     no
