Hi Steve,

Thanks for your bug report.  I am forwarding it to the PLplot development
mailing list.  I am totally ignorant in Python and Tk, so I am afraid I
cannot help you. Hopefully someone in this forum will be able to do it.

As a matter of fact, I cannot replicate the reported problem with Python 2.1
in Debian testing (sarge).  I will eventually check the behavior in Debian
unstable (sid) with Python 2.2.

At any rate, the presence of ".cvs." in the PLplot version string is only a
transient situation and this problem will vanish when version 5.2.1 will be
released.  I think though that it is important to investigate it, since this
can hide a more serious bug.
