Last I checked it worked fine for Tcl/Tk 8.3.3.  Sorry, I don't have time
right now to try a later version of Tcl/Tk.

Does PLplot cvs HEAD work okay for you with Tcl/Tk 8.3?  A positive or
negative result there would narrow down where the problem is.
