I am trying to get caught up after a looooooooooooooong diversion.
Has this been fixed, or is it still waiting for me?

Frankly, I don't know specifically what to do, and would be hunting at
random.  I agree that "surely Perl can handle this", but I never use
Windows anymore, and have never even once run a perl script on
Windows. 

The reason for my long silence is partly massive overload on my day
job, and partly that I have just moved out of Silicon Valley, and
relocated to Austin, Tx.  Back to the old stomping grounds.

Anyway, my computer books (perl included) haven't yet been seen since
the move...
