I have also tested plplot 5.1.0 on suse 7.2 during the release test=20 phase and it worked OK. I now have a suse 7.2 and plplot 5.1.0 with=20 the tk driver works OK. The problem must be, as Maurice says, a Xserver authorization issue. If 'wish' is launched from the command line in an insecure xserver,=20 the user must see the message "X server insecure (must use=20 xauth-style authorization)". Generally xdm (or kdm or gdm) starts the xserver with a correct=20 =2EXauthority file; if however the user uses the "startx" command from=20 the console command line to start the X server, setting security can=20 be cumbersome.
