I had to agree. Well no one says they have to maintain their extremely high margins for a Linux offering either. I have a hard time believing they couldn't make a profit on a Linux support, considering how many scientific users (among other potential buyers) have Linux boxes these days. And to base their argument on the availability of a hardware vapor product (IA-64) is just a cop out to me -- it let them write down the magical phrase "Linux support" in order to impress somebody (stockholder?) without actually doing anything about it.
