Well, a combo of things happened there.  One, a bad assumption on the max
number of max file devices (my bad), two, increase in the number of file
devices, three, the default configure doesn't exclude any devices (which
I don't particularly like) and in fact is broken in this regard (which I
plan to fix).  In any case, it will be fixed, as I'm on flat-out plplot
mode right now, up to my ears in the palette tools which are coming soon..
