Yesterday only a subset of my plplot_cvs commit messages got through. I posted a support request about this to SF. Although there has been no official response and the mail status report there (dated November 28, grrh) says everything is fine, here is one users response to my support request. "Alan, this problem is affecting a number of projects - you were lucky to have things working again for a short while. We (anjuta) have had no messages through our lists for a good while :-( "Monitoring a number of support requests for information on what might be wrong. So apparently this problem is not just specific to us. This is awkward timing for us with the last minute commits and messages associated with the pre-release period. Also, with the Christmas break upon us, I don't expect SF to do much about it for a while. Anyhow, if you must get a message through to another developer, use their private e-mail address as well as plplot-devel. Also, even though the plplot-cvs list is not reliable, please don't let that intimidate you from doing well-defined projects before the release. For example, I am beginning to make some good progress on getting consistency between all the standard examples for the various front ends. The scorecard is yorick, java, tcl, python, and C all give the same results up to example 7 (aside from some small shifting of letters in some examples which I believe is due to inevitable floating-point logic in the decision about letter stroke positioning.) Today, I hope to finish off getting consistent results for example 8 (only tcl still to do). My goal is to get consistent results for all examples (excluding the complicated 14th, 17th, 19th, and 20th examples). I expect finishing this project will be more time-consuming than what I have done so far up to example 8. The segfault problems in example 9 for python still need to be investigated/fixed, and the api extensions and complete example scripts need to be generated for certain of the remaining examples/front ends. Nevertheless, because of the progress I have been able to make in the last couple of days, I still have good hope that I can get this completely done before the release.
