Hello Alan,
For me it's fine if you take my patches in plplot under LGPL.
None of the changes to plmodule.c need libqt and
Libqt is just needed by pyqt if you want to run the new qplplot
widget. On the other hand qplplot.py is just a code that
does not not contain libqt, so I think that you can license it
in the form that you prefer (LGPL).
I am happy that you like qplplot.py.
My group (scientific software) and also our collegues
working in the software group for data acquisition and processing at the
Esrf ( european synchrotron) use a lot, and more and more, python.
We have a also strong demand from the users for image analysys.
This is the reason why I and my collegues are so interested
in having plimage.
If you agree I would like to submit to your kind evaluation, in the next
weeks, small bunches of code ( as you suggested) in order to implement
step by step a plimage that fits our needs and hopefully those
of the plplot community.
