After running

scripts/style_source.sh --apply

to style your changes, I tested them and pushed
them (git commit 3876b262c, described as plplot-5.15.0-77-g3876b262c).

It is really great you followed up on that reference and found a solution that
satisfies my long-standing semi-transparency dream for Qt5.

@others on list:

If any of the rest are interested in what we accomplished, try building
the "test_memqt_example" target and clicking on the "actions" menu for the
resulting GUI that is displayed.

@António:

For the time being, at least, I think we are done with memqt_example development,
