When I tried it earlier with a more restricted fix (using the C macro WIN32), the whole comprehensive test ran fine. I do not have time right now to repeat this, but testing an example manually did what it was expected to do. Hi Arjen: Thanks for that fix. Your confidence in the fix appears to be well justified; on my older version of MinGW/MSYS and also on my Debian stable platform, I confirmed manually testing one example with -debug gave the expected results.
