Note for those who wish to continue to use plplot-config for linking programs
to plplot (a) in a backward compatible way, or (b) because you don't care to
let plplot-config drive the build, I recently added a version of plplot-config
that's just a wrapper around plplot_libtool.  Only available through cvs head,
and no guarantees as to its suitability for your needs, etc.  Works fine for
me though.
