[Plplot-general] VTK?

As long as I'm in newbie question mode, here's another
one:  how easy/hard would it be to have plplot use
something like the VTK toolkit to generate it's
output?  I don't know if the examples on the plplot
website are current, but they leave a little to be
desired in some cases from the visual appeal
standpoint.
