I committed the first quick attempt to migrate an existing 1.0.x site to Plone 2.0. I did it with the plone.org Data.fs and from afar it looks to be OK. Not 100%. - First we will not be migrating people's slots to the 'new' portlet names. People can do that themselves - else things should continue if they are using the old 'slots' pagetemplates. - you will need to remove your header and main_template if you had customized it. - on the migrations for some reason the portal_types and portal_propeties action_providers are not staying. so we need to address this (or just bolt it on to the portal_actions.action_provides attribute) - skins request variable isnt kept. since its tossed most likely things will break it needs to be called 'plone_skin' (2 minute fix) - I registered the migration code so it should work. but the migrations seem to be broken. so I created a function called 'doit' and symlinked the oneX_2beta2.py migration script into CMFPlone/Extensions as migrate and just ran the doit method on the portal to see the migration. need help with testing. If we could get someone who is committed to the 'migration experience' I would appreciate that. I have done most of what I can do. Please test on a copy of your production databases. cheers, ~runyaga |
