I am having trouble building Gazebo. The error has something to do with libavcodec. I don't know what's wrong here... I ran into this exact problem yesterday doing a Ubuntu source install of Gazebo, and fortunately remember just how to fix it! As root, you have to edit the common.h file, so do: sudo emacs(vim/nano/whatever) /usr/local/include/libavutil/common.h and at the top, add the following lines: #ifdef __cplusplus #define __STDC_CONSTANT_MACROS #ifdef _STDINT_H #undef _STDINT_H #endif #include <stdint.h> #endif You won't be allowed to edit this file, which is part of the notoriously buggy FFMpeg library, unless you have superuser privileges, so make sure you will be able to do this. It should solve the problem, so just do a 'make clean', reconfigure using cmake and make it again. Good luck! Ok. So, it built correctly! Thank you so much! The only thing now is an error I had the other day. I fixed it by commenting out a section of the cmake.txt file, but I know that has caused the error I have when I try to run it. Just a shot in the dark, but is the FLTK_MATH_LIBRARY a dependency for Gazebo? In other words, should you be hunting for something like this? http://www.fltk.org/ I'm just guessing, so you should probably wait for someone more familiar with Gazebo to respond, but hopefully this can give you some direction to at least look into. Nevermind! I fixed it! I had cmake looking in the wrong place for the FLTK libraries. I used the cmake-gui to find the math.h file and did it that way. It configured and built without error! Then, I ran it... new errors appeared... Yeah, I'm actually stuck at this point as well. I'm thinking that this version of gazebo might be incompatible with the version of ODE we're using, but thats just a pseudo-educated guess. I didn't even know that approvals were needed for ps-gazebo. They aren't for ps-users and ps-developers. Nate Koenig is still developing Gazebo as part of his work at Willow Garage.
