Hi all=0A =0AI am ASM. Hoque from Dublin City University. Currently we are = going to make hospital robot. and we are using player/stage. At the moment = we need to open/close a box which is in robotbox. we select the RS-232 digi= tal relay I/O module( for open and closed the box by solenoid valve). there= will be one button for press. when press the button then box will open. we= need that information in player (massage). So my question is Do we need t= o make any driver for that? But i did not see any driver for gripper inside= player. It sounds like you will need to make a driver for the device. I would start by making a plugin driver and then look at integrating into player once it is all up and running. There are a couple of example plugins in the player source tree. In theory, it is possible, however afair Stage directly does not provide any means for that. One proposal is to keep on updating some map of visited places (array of cells in client program, or, if you're experienced enough you can make use of the fact that vectormap interface provides a method for surface update; you can make additional surface for your marks; currently postgis is the only driver which implements that method). But, boefore you start, think twice if that's the thing you really want to do. Are you planning to implement Light Cycle game in Player or something? ( see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_Cycle ). If not, note that your robot can easily get stucked in the middle of marked places (unless you'll make your marks expiring in time). Your program sounds (and looks like, from the screenshots) very similar to what I'm interested in doing. If I could get the source from you, that'd be extremely helpful (I'm assuming it's open source?) possibly there is an error in that pioneer config, try removing references to providing the 'sound' interface and see what happens. Hi all: I have a problem installing the player to my computer. I'm using unix system, and I followed the installation guide in the README file. Here is the problem. After I ">cmake ../", I proceed to the ">make install" step, but when I hit 16% on the playerPYTHON_warp.o, the complier will give warning messages about the $self undeclared. Therefore, I wasn't able to even setting up the player on my computer. Did I do something wrong? or are there any other ways to install the player(stage as well, but haven't tried this one yet).
