Hi, I have already ran make install in the ogre1.6 folder. Next I ran scons after svn co https://playerstage.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/playerstage/code/gazebo/trunk Then I went into gazebo-0.8-pre3 folder and ran scons. Thats where e error came on. Must I remove gazebo first? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/New-to-GAZEBO-tp21545418p22345131.html Sent from the playerstage-gazebo mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

The "svn co https://playerstage.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/playerstage/code/gazebo/trunk" command creates a new directory, 'trunk', on the current folder. You should run scons on the new folder 'trunk', not in gazebo-0.8-pre3. I have actually already done that but running $gazebo test.world still gives me Gazebo multi-robot simulator, version 0.8-pre3 Part of the Player/Stage Project [http://playerstage.sourceforge.net]. As a general comment, dont use root account in Linux. Except for the installation step you dont need root privileges. Just to be sure, go to the trunk directory and execute ./gazebo worlds/simpleshapes.world On Fri, Mar 6, 2009 at 10:32 AM, shen85 <fir...@ho...> wrote: > > I have actually already done that but running $gazebo test.world still > gives > me > > Gazebo multi-robot simulator, version 0.8-pre3 > > Part of the Player/Stage Project [http://playerstage.sourceforge.net]. > Copyright (C) 2003 Nate Koenig, Andrew Howard, and contributors. > Released under the GNU General Public License. > > [server/GazeboConfig.cc:84] > Gazebo Path[/usr/local/share/gazebo] > [server/GazeboConfig.cc:92] > Ogre Path[/usr/lib/OGRE] > creating /tmp/gazebo-root-0 > found a pid file: pid=5785 > The gazebo process is not alive. > creating /tmp/gazebo-root-0/simulation.default 112 145592 > creating /tmp/gazebo-root-0/position.position_iface_0 112 288 > creating /tmp/gazebo-root-0/laser.laser_iface_0 112 12512 > creating /tmp/gazebo-root-0/fiducial.fiducial_iface_0 112 22600 > Segmentation fault > > > which is supposed to be solved when I run $svn co. > > > -- > View this message in context: > http://www.nabble.com/New-to-GAZEBO-tp21545418p22364583.html > Sent from the playerstage-gazebo mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, > CA > -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the > Enterprise > -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source > participation > -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: > SFAD > http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H > _______________________________________________ > Playerstage-gazebo mailing list > Pla...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/playerstage-gazebo > -- Jordi Polo Carres NLP laboratory - NAIST http://www.bahasara.org |

Hi, I got this, Gazebo multi-robot simulator, version 0.8-pre3 Part of the Player/Stage Project [http://playerstage.sourceforge.net]. Copyright (C) 2003 Nate Koenig, Andrew Howard, and contributors. Released under the GNU General Public License. [server/GazeboConfig.cc:101] Unable to find the file ~/.gazeborc. Using default paths. This may cause OGRE to fail. in the trunk directory there is a gazeborc file, you can edit it to the correct paths in your computer but I think it should be already OK. after that cp gazeborc ~/.gazeborc if you still got the segmentation fault then: gdb ./gazebo run worlds/simpleshapes.world when the fault happens, write: where and copy here the result On Fri, Mar 6, 2009 at 3:59 PM, shen85 <fir...@ho...> wrote: > > Hi, > > I got this, > > Gazebo multi-robot simulator, version 0.8-pre3 > > Part of the Player/Stage Project [http://playerstage.sourceforge.net]. > Copyright (C) 2003 Nate Koenig, Andrew Howard, and contributors. > Released under the GNU General Public License. > > [server/GazeboConfig.cc:101] > Unable to find the file ~/.gazeborc. I tried this $ gazebo worlds/simpleshapes.world and got this Gazebo multi-robot simulator, version 0.8-pre3 Part of the Player/Stage Project [http://playerstage.sourceforge.net]. [server/GazeboConfig.cc:84] Gazebo Path[/usr/local/share/gazebo] [server/GazeboConfig.cc:92] Ogre Path[/usr/local/lib/OGRE] Segmentation fault After that I do gdb ./gazebo run worlds/simpleshapes.world and got (gdb) run worlds/simpleshapes.world Starting program: worlds/simpleshapes.world No executable file specified. If you want to debug gazebo try: $ gdb ./gazebo --args worlds/simpleshapes.world 2009/3/9 shen85 <fir...@ho...> > > I tried this > $ gazebo worlds/simpleshapes.world > > and got this > > Gazebo multi-robot simulator, version 0.8-pre3 > > Part of the Player/Stage Project [http://playerstage.sourceforge.net]. > Copyright (C) 2003 Nate Koenig, Andrew Howard, and contributors. > Released under the GNU General Public License. > > [server/GazeboConfig.cc:84] > Gazebo Path[/usr/local/share/gazebo] > [server/GazeboConfig.cc:92] > Ogre Path[/usr/local/lib/OGRE] > Segmentation fault > > > After that I do > > gdb ./gazebo > run worlds/simpleshapes.world > > and got > > (gdb) run worlds/simpleshapes.world > Starting program: worlds/simpleshapes.world > No executable file specified. > Use the "file" or "exec-file" command. > (gdb) > > > > -- > View this message in context: > http://www.nabble.com/New-to-GAZEBO-tp21545418p22405971.html > Sent from the playerstage-gazebo mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, > CA > -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the > Enterprise > -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source > participation > -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: > SFAD > http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H > _______________________________________________ > Playerstage-gazebo mailing list > Pla...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/playerstage-gazebo > |

Sorry, switched the parameters. It's gdb --args ./gazebo worlds/simpleshapes.world then in gdb type 'run'. If an error occurs and gdb stops, type 'bt' for backtrace. 2009/3/9 shen85 <fir...@ho...> > > I tried this > $ gazebo worlds/simpleshapes.world > > and got this > > Gazebo multi-robot simulator, version 0.8-pre3 > > Part of the Player/Stage Project [http://playerstage.sourceforge.net]. > Copyright (C) 2003 Nate Koenig, Andrew Howard, and contributors. > Released under the GNU General Public License. > > [server/GazeboConfig.cc:84] > Gazebo Path[/usr/local/share/gazebo] > [server/GazeboConfig.cc:92] > Ogre Path[/usr/local/lib/OGRE] > Segmentation fault > > > After that I do > > gdb ./gazebo > run worlds/simpleshapes.world > > and got > > (gdb) run worlds/simpleshapes.world > Starting program: worlds/simpleshapes.world > No executable file specified. > Use the "file" or "exec-file" command. > (gdb) > > > > -- > View this message in context: > http://www.nabble.com/New-to-GAZEBO-tp21545418p22405971.html > Sent from the playerstage-gazebo mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, > CA > -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the > Enterprise > -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source > participation > -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: > SFAD > http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H > _______________________________________________ > Playerstage-gazebo mailing list > Pla...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/playerstage-gazebo > |
