Player/Stage has a lot of dependencies on other software. Why don't you list all the dependencies on all the packages on your install instructions on your website (http://playerstage.sourceforge.net/doc/Player-3.0.2/player/install.html)?
I have installed Player/Stage three times on three different systems and it took me multiple days each time and a lot of confusion and headache each time. I've guessed a lot at which packages to install to make Player's cmake output happy and I've likely installed a bunch of stuff unnecessarily. Please make this less confusing and less of a headache.
Would it be possible in the future to just type the following to install Player and Stage on a Debian based system?
$ sudo apt-get install player
and
$sudo apt-get install stage
How hard would that be to pull off?
Thanks,
Kurt Leucht (player/Stage user since just a couple months ago)
you should be able to apt-get install robot-player on debian and ubuntu systems. I don't think stage is packaged there. Fedora has both player and stage available through yum.
I will try to compile a list of required and optional Player dependencies for the next release. most of player's dependencies are optional for driver support,
