Sorry, I was unclear.
I meant that having an id for a votable is very important because this
id can then be used to identify a given table when using the
"showobjects" message. At the time, we (PLASTICers) have not defined a
message taking an image id as an argument. That was my point.

If an application sends to current version of Aladin an
"ivo://votech.org/fits/image/loadFromURL" message with an extra
argument, it would just ignore it.
