Thinking about it further, if this is true for VOSpec and all the rest,
then passing the serialisation format as an arg rather than as part of
the message may well be more user-friendly. If an app doesn't
understand the format it can throw a fault saying precisely what the
problem is, rather than the user wondering why AstroScope won't allow
him to send the file to his favourite viewer.
I think once this spectrum message is sorted we should continue our
discussion about exception handling that we started at the Strasbourg
meeting.
