I’ve now logged on to the testbed, and am wondering about Characterisation experiments. When designing an experiment, my only choices are Migrate and Emulator and Execute preservation plan.
My experiment concerns two different tiff-versions of a document. Although they look similar, they behave differently, i.e. one version can be opened by MS Imaging (and some archiving tools from the Danish State Archives), the other cannot. There’s clearly a difference. However, all the migration services correctly identify and migrate the format.
Therefore, I’d like to run them through some property extractors, to get a look at where the differences might be located.
I should add that, when analysing a migration result, the xcdlcompare properties is not working, it returns the error message javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: java.lang.NullPointerException
Similarly, quite a few of other services are apparently not up and running, but I assume you’re generally aware of these problems.
