Enclosed patch makes two changes to improve
interoperability with other software:

* Removed automatic ".tif" filename extension, because
applications expect the output file to match what was
specified in the Display call exactly. Aqsis, BMRT,
and 3Delight all output the file without any changes to
the filename.

* Removed LZW compression for TIFF files since many
libtiff distributions do not include LZW compression
support due to patent & licensing issues. Aqsis, BMRT,
and 3Delight all output uncompressed files.

3Delight supports both LZW and ZIP compressed TIF (RTM). I
think the same goes for Aqsis. Support of ZIP compressed TIF
is a must as long as OpenEXR is not supported directly.
Uncompressed TIF files eat up too much sapce if the renderer
is used in an animation production environment.

The LZW patent has now expired and most libtiff distros are available with
    LZW enabled.
