Hello list, I think I've found a solution for the dependency of Pioneers on netpbm: Use a monospaced font for the next block:
distribution/ maintainer Cygwin other user type || Cygwin || MinGW source svn || tarball tarball only svn || tarball svg -> ico yes no no ico,rc -> o yes yes no link resource yes yes no make dist yes no no
This table means: * Non maintainers on non-Windows platforms do not need netpbm anymore, but= =20 cannot make a tarball for distribution (which shouldn't be needed anyway) * For Windows platforms: the distributed icons are used. (I've not found an easy way to generate them in MinGW yet) * Maintainers can and must create the icons In the configure script it will be like: if maintainer_mode -> enable all if windows -> enable RC compiler and link In practice this will mean: =2E/configure --enable-maintainer-mode All platforms: netpbm, RC compiler, etc required. =2E/configure --enable-maintainer-mode --without-ms-icons For Windows platforms: Error. For non-Windows platforms: no netpbm, RC compiler etc required. =2E/configure For Windows platforms: Enable RC compiler and linker. For non-Windows platforms: no netpbm, RC compiler etc required. Did I forget anything? Regards, Roland Clobus |
