I was finally able to run PT with locale set to LC_ALL=ru instead of LC_ALL=ru_RU. I don't know, shall there be sourcecode or translation file get fixed...

Hmm, very strange. I've tried it with openSuSE 11.1 and Qt. 4.4.3 and it works perfect. Pinkytagger did not evaluate the LC_ALL variable but the LANG variable. So changing LC_ALL should make no difference at all:/ (see main.cpp Line 77 to 111)

I think I should better use "QLocale::system().name()" instead of "getenv("LANG");" I will change this short-dated.

I am having a similar issue. I'm trying to get Pinky-Tagger 2.2-0 to work on FreeBSD 7.1 with QT 4.4.3. LANG=en. It builds fine, but it crashes upon start. The splash screen displays, but that is all. Here is a backtrace:
