I have two db's on with a list of institution and the state they are in and another db for data entry. I would like to be able to have the following lay out: Field1:State ----- links to inst. Db state column Field2:Institution ----- list is generated from the state in field1 to limit the amount to scroll through. so if state=pa then only pa institutions will show up when I pull this list for institutions. Right now I have field1 link and filed2 linked to institutions and it brings up the whole list and fills in both fields when I select one item, which is fine for a small list but this list is big and it takes a while to scroll through it. I'm new to this type of db so please explain well. TIA Jason |

Hi, I've posted this a few times, and had no reply so I thought I'd try one = more time... I have Clie T615C (OS 4.1 hires). I can get a hires display in PilotDB = v1.04, but when I install v1.1b2, hires will not work, no matter what I = do. Has anyone else had this problem? Hi all, I know that this has nothing to do with pilot-db, but I'm despreate as I have lost many memopad Memos after a hard-reset and since there are a few experts around, I though I could ask... I had made a few backups of the memopad-directory as well as the entire palm-data directory and tried to copy earlier memopad.bak und memopad.dat files into the current memopad directory. This did not work: Does any one know why? I could only recover the few MPA Memopad-archives that I had. I'd really appreciate help!! Hans Ajiet Holtkamp |

Hi, I have been looking for a good DB program for a little while now and Pilot-DB fits it well. I have had problems/constant crashes with trying to get the latest version, 1.1, to work on my Visor Platinum running ZLauncher and PalmOS3.5.2H1.5. This includes fatal exceptions when trying to open databases and having all of the help, overlay and plug-in .prc files come up on desktop as icons (including when my few hacks are turned off). Very interesting problems. Instead, I downloaded the 1.0.4 (has anyone noticed that the "About" screen for this version says 1.0.3? Is this a typo following the update?) and have got that running with a minimal of trouble (still the occasional crash and soft reset, but fairly stable). I have installed several of the plug-ins and found them extremely useful. My problem is the following: I use the filter option to pull out particular records and would like to get a count of how many records were present after the filtering. If I use db-information, I get the total number of entries in the database (unless I rebuild the database first, which I learned, wipes out the original database). I have tried using db-report, but after picking a field (they are all string fields), I get a message saying that no report is available for this field type. What field types does db-report support? The "ReadME" files of all the available distributions say that if give statistics on a column of data, but nothing else. I have searched the archives on the web site, but found nothing helpful. Can anyone give me an idea of how db-report works and its limitations? Also, if anyone has a suggestion on a fast and easy way to get a count of how many records are present after filtering, that would be great.
