(or a user-definable amount of space--i.e. 1, 2, 3, etc. lines.) 2--the ability to turn on an off the plugin on the fly- a button somewhere on the buddy list? 3--the ability to move the plugin to the top of the buddy list instead of the bottom. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dave (trupal00p) Date: 2005-05-15 15:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1274353 how about instead of someone adjusting a this plugin someone just makes an entirely new one that will reajust your window for you when it changes so we don't have to. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: kalteste (kalteste) Date: 2005-05-15 15:04 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1270101 I am using the windows dll as well and the default GTK theme with the bundled GTK implementation. When you make the buddy list some fixed width, and then apply multiple different away messages, it arbitrarily resizes the width of the window. It is an amazing plugin, and incrediably usefull. However, the resizing is incrediably annoying. I've also ran into problems after opening and closing the buddy list window a few times, the away box dissapears! If someone leaves a message to be displayed in that away window, it is lost! I know this b/c hte tray icon flashes. I will try to be more specific when I see it happen again. In short- please fix the window resizing!!! Thank you!!!111eleven ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: kalteste (kalteste) Date: 2005-05-01 02:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1270101 This hack has saved the day. This plugin assumes you have already installed festival (http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/projects/festival/), and you have the festival server running in the background (festival --server). See "man festival" for more. Just copy the script to ~/.gaim/plugins, restart gaim, go to preferences->plugins and put a checkmark next to "Festival Speech", and you should hear "hello". The following events are announced: - buddy signed in - buddy signed out - conversation window created - conversation window deleted - your away status changed - buddy joined chat room - buddy left chat room Plus, the text of your instant message conversations are spoken. Now you too can listen to flat mechanical voices, just like David Lightman in the movie "Wargames". lol ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=390395&aid=1214011&group_id=235 |

Hello...I'm trying to migrate from Miranda-IM to gAIM, and I managed to export my entire database and import the history successfully, but, it turns out Miranda didn't properly add my buddy list, so the server's list is empty. Since I have 200+ AIM buddies, entering them manually would be a colossal waste of time. Accordingly, I'm trying to write a plugin for one-time use that will do it for me. However, it's, uh, not working. The text of the plugin: <begin> #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include "internal.h" #include "notify.h" #include "blist.h" #include "account.h" #include "debug.h" #include "plugin.h" #include "version.h" #include "connection.h" #include "server.h" #include "prpl.h" static gboolean plugin_load(GaimPlugin *plugin) { gaim_debug(GAIM_DEBUG_INFO, "importblist", "importblist loaded.\n"); //gaim_notify_message( plugin, GAIM_NOTIFY_MSG_INFO, "Import Buddy List!", "Import Buddy List works so far! =]", NULL, NULL, NULL ); FILE* buddiesIn = fopen( "/home/terralthra/buddylisttest.txt", "r" ); FILE* buddiesOut = fopen( "/home/terralthra/buddydump.txt", "w" ); GaimAccount* aimAccount = gaim_accounts_find( "TerrsOtherComp", "prpl-oscar" ); GaimConnection* aimConnection = gaim_account_get_connection( aimAccount ); while( TRUE ) { char c[100]; if( fgets(c, 100, buddiesIn ) == NULL ) { break; } char* buddy = strtok( c, "\n" ); GaimBuddy* tempBuddy; tempBuddy = gaim_buddy_new( aimAccount, buddy, NULL ); gaim_blist_add_buddy( tempBuddy, NULL, NULL, NULL ); serv_add_buddy( aimConnection, tempBuddy ); //TEH PROBLEM IS HERE fprintf( buddiesOut, "%s\n", buddy ); } fclose( buddiesIn ); fclose( buddiesOut ); return TRUE; } static gboolean plugin_unload(GaimPlugin *plugin) { gaim_debug(GAIM_DEBUG_INFO, "importblist", "importblist unloaded.\n"); return TRUE; } static GaimPluginInfo info = { GAIM_PLUGIN_MAGIC, GAIM_MAJOR_VERSION, GAIM_MINOR_VERSION, GAIM_PLUGIN_STANDARD, /**< type */ NULL, /**< ui_requirement */ 0, /**< flags */ NULL, /**< dependencies */ GAIM_PRIORITY_DEFAULT, /**< priority */ NULL, /**< id */ N_("ImportBuddyList"), /**< name */ VERSION, /**< version */ /** summary */ N_("Adds any directory in your logfile to blist"), /** description */ N_("Adds all log directories to blist"), "Michael D. When loaded, this plugin works except for one thing...the 214 "Unknown Error while adding buddy" error windows. Given that the buddy list in question is, uh, empty, that's scarcely possible. Any suggestions? -Michael D. Shannon |

Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Tejing (tejing) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: more advanced text replacement? <IMG> tag? Initial Comment: I was thinking it would be useful for a lot of things to have text replacement that was based on regular expressions and used the matched expressinos in the replacement. I happen to talk about math a lot on IM. I have a cgi script that will generate a picture from a LaTeX expression, but it would be very nice not to have to "include a link" every time I wanted to use that. just put, say, \(\sqrt{2}\) and have it recognize the \( and \) and pass the \sqrt{2} to the cgi script in the link. another idea this makes me think of is it would be nice if gaim proccessed the <IMG> html tag correctly and actually showed the image just like it would in a web page instead of showing nothing. I don't know how hard that would be, though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: ssssmemyself (ssssmemyself) Date: 2005-05-27 19:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1002131 The trouble with displaying <img> tags is, first of all, it'll only work for those who have installed a plugin, so you'd have to convince people to switch to gaim and install the plugin before embedding images. The second issue is that it is possible to capture people's IP addresses with images. If you send a tag pointing to your own server, you can go back through your apache logs and their IP would be right there. There are also many other issues with images, such as the possibility of sending obscene images and more. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Danny (cratos) Assigned to: Etan Reisner (deryni9) Summary: Flash Notify Initial Comment: I modified the message notification (notify.c) plugin and added an option to make the notification flash between the normal text and the notify text (Username and (*)[2]Username). This causes what looks like movement and is more likely to catch your eye than just changing the title and leaving it. This new version adds an option to only show the username in the title every other flash. This allows for true flashing of the title (Blank, username, blank, username... etc). When you make the buddy list some fixed width, and then apply multiple different away messages, it arbitrarily resizes the width of the window. I can provide screenshots if it helps get the bug fixed. Its the only thing keeping me from using this plugin. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: jostin (jostin) Date: 2005-05-15 13:17 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1100842 Excellent plugin! If not updated, this will close in 14 days. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hobadee (hobadee) Date: 2004-05-25 05:32 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=997443 <Feature Request> It's kinda annoying to be in another desktop and have a message arrive but never realize it because you are looking at something on desktop 42 instead of desktop 15.
