I don't know how E interprets that. You should turn on the notify plugin, set the URGENT hint option and see what happens. I guess the more auth requests you get, the less you wind up caring about any of them, and the less likely you are to care if you don't see them. The fewer you get, the more important each individual one is. I was really legitimately annoyed because I have a few auth requests everytime I sign on. Today I got back from a 2 week vacation and had 21. Prior to my changes, this actually resulted in 42 dialogs I would have had to click through. The dialog boxes sort of demand my attention immediately. It's cumbersome to ignore 42 dialogs (or even 1) begging for my attention in the background. This, it's easy to ignore, go respond to my offline messages or pounced messages, and then take care of those 21 people. I try to be careful when designing features that I'm not isolating everyone else who actually uses IM for things other than getting annoyed by Gaim users.
