I'm trying to get Gaim to load a Perl script (the example from the Perl Scripting HOWTO) but it won't show up in the plugins preferences panel. I'm using 0.79 (downgraded from 0.80 after it kept crashing in Yahoo chats) on Windows 98. I installed ActivePerl 5.8 in the default directory before installing Gaim; perl.dll exists in the Gaim plugins directory. I copied the Perl example exactly and tried placing the file in the Gaim program directory, the main plugins directory, .gaim and .gaim/plugins, but it doesn't seem to work anywhere. Is there anything I didn't do or didn't do correctly? Anything I should try? (I posted this to the forum as well. Sorry for crossposting, but I'd really like to get this working; I've got some plugin ideas I want to try implementing.) Thanks, Jeff |
