-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I have been having a similar problem on my work computer. The office is on the end of a Satellite link, then behind a cisco firewall and then Norton Personal Firewall 2002 on the desktop, for about a month now the jabber server hasn't been connecting (jabber.org or jabber.org.uk), I just get to the initialise streams bit and nothing else happens. The Norton firewall did an update about the time the jabber stopped connecting and now I wish I could disable Norton (company policy prohibits it). I have tried this with a jabber client (Exodus_0.9.0) and get the same result. However if I connect from home which just uses the ASDL router firewall I can connect no problem. I need to do more testing of the personal firewalls settings to figure out why it is stopping Jabber, I would suspect its something to do with the proxy service it installs. My advice to you would be to first try another jabber client to confirm its the firewall. Then try different settings on the firewall to see what the problem is. Then post it back here for others (namely me) to share. If I get time later this week I'll do some testing. Apologies to all those using inherently secure OS's I know you won't know what I have just been wittering on about ;-) Regards Phil Hannent (aka Monkey77) gai...@li... wrote: |Message: 4 |Date: Mon, 28 Jun 2004 12:01:42 -0400 |From: Nick Pietraniec <ml...@re...> |To: gai...@li... |Subject: [Gaim-devel] Win version and firewall | |Hello all. I recently upgraded to Symantec client firewall 7.1 from 5.0 |and gaim's jabber plugin no longer works.
