Hovering over the text area I don't believe this would be possible without severe hacking or a new GTK widget (Non-rectangular TextView? Ew), which shouldn't be done without a very good reason. Is there one, apart from "It's the way MSN does things"? Alternately, the icon could be in that pane of the window, but that would waste space with little icons and I don't think it would look very nice. On the matter of scaling, I'm ambivalent. I think it looks bad, but it might be worth a shot. On the idea of one tab's widget resizing affecting another's, I'm of the mind that it's a very, very bad idea. (though it might be nice for gaim to automagically remember the setting on a per-IM/chat basis) |
