    Starting today I am unable to connect to yahoo using gaim is anyone else having this problem.  I can connect fine with yahoo messenger just not with using the current version of GAIM

      Yes, I've been having the same problems as well. I heard that Yahoo! was following suit, to some extent, with the MSN protocol, forcing an upgrade. However, I'm not sure if this is the specific reason.

      That's really weird, because i had the same problem a few hours ago! Gaim crashed and closed, and now I can't connect :(

      Yahoo took off 3rd party clients connections on Sept 24. They have been announcing that shit all week long.

      I use Fire on my Mac. they updated this week to the new Yahoo! protocol. when is the update for Gaim due?

      I don't know if the yahoo protocol has been updated on Gaim !
      I just install the yahoo client from yahoo :(( and waiting for gaim update....

      While sniffing a windows yahoo messenger, I found it connects to 66.163.169.148:23 . when I put it in my gaim (v .68), it works now. just set "Pager host" 66.163.169.148 and "Pager port" 23
      in your Yahoo account prefrences

        FYI - I tried the IP address change to my gaim yahoo preferences (v .68) and still not connecting after 9/24.

      yahoo support will be soon, or already has, failed for all versions of gaim prior to 0.69, which we are releasing as fast as we possibly can.

        I am currently using an Yahoo account at YahooJP and it still works. YahooJP is usually slow on updates. I would like to be able to use both, though it is not that much of a request, since the nonJP Yahoo is more important to me.

      On 0.68 - I tried 66.163.169.148:23 and global proxy setting turned on with no luck... But I changed the port back to 5050 (originally I connected to scs.yahoo.com:5050) and now I'm connected.

      Correction - NO proxy, not Global proxy.  Another co-worker has it woring under .68 but it took him two times to connect.

        I can verify the 66.163.169.148:23 workaround is effective. It did take about 15 to 20 minutes before a conenction was accepted by Yahoo after a failed connection attempt under scs.yahoo.com:5050 (old method)

      I am running win98se with version .65 and applied new ip address of 66.163.169.148. I tried once with port 23 didnt work first time so I changed it back to 5050 and works fine now.

      I had no problem connecting to the service with either of the addresses, however, it complains that my password is incorrect.
      I know that is not true since I am able to connect to yahoo mail with no problems

      Any ideas?

      Anybody know where to find a RH 8.0 RPM for 0.69?  I tried the
      tricks for diffierent IPs and port numbers with no success.  I also
      tried to build 0.69 from source, but the dependency dance was going way too deep and tedius.  Maybe I should just be patient.

      I have just installed cvs .69 and it wont connect keeping the setting normal or using the IP tweak.

      Yeah just install .69 windows version nad am not able to connect, though funny thing is if I keep trying eventually I do connect.

      running redhat and just loaded .69 from source and getting the same message: incorrect password. But the password is correct

      Does yahoo require TLS/SSL support for logins now?   I just built gaim 0.69 without it (gnutls would not build on my system), and have the 'incorrect password' error just like everybody else.

      I don't think Yahoo is using SSL, I ran an Ethereal trace on the "official" Yahoo client and it's still plain text in the packets.
