Is this plugin in any way based on the recently discontinued TeXIM?

TeXIM also worked on Windows machines. This plugin requires TeX2IM, which as far as I know, is a *NIX shell script.

Are there any plans to make this plugin multi-platform? (say, as a perl-based plugin under gaim 2.0?). So that you don't think I'm a total slacker, I am willing to help out, but setting up a windows build environment for GAIM type things is difficult, so I'd want to know if there was interest before I invested the time.

A ported windows-dll will be released shortly

That's great to hear! Maybe htex (http://www.gams.com/contrib/htex/htex.htm), or its included batch files, may be useful in this project. (See the note I left in the tracker.)

Better yet, maybe we could use the windows version of latex2html (which plays nicely with MikTex, the most common latex for windows installation). With minimul modification, we could just run it -- ignore any outputted html files -- and just grab the gif.

First at all, excuse my English and congratulations for the plugin.

I've just read that a windows port will be available. Is it available now?

And a related question. In the .zip archive I've just downloaded (gaim-latex-0.4.tar) there's a file in German called ReadmeStudents.txt . It talks about a latex.dll library to copy in order to install the plugin but ther isn't that file. Is it available or how can I do to create it from the source files included in the .zip archive under windows?

The source code should compile with windows (and probably tools like gcc, an maybe also other tools) The dll could then be used on any computer.

I've only one problem, I've got a disk crash on my mail server, and I lose a lot of mail data. In these data there was the dll and the patch/source for the windows port. It's whyI need several month to publish it (The server was in another country, I study abroad...)

I was able to recover some (most of the important) files but the dll was not ok. So if someone can compile it for windows, I will put it on sf (if he send it to me)

But I don't have windows at home so it's difficult for me :)

I can try it, I think. But I may need some help or instructions. Is the source code in the file I've downloaded the appropiate for windows or the code for windows is different? And then, how I should proceed?
