Summary: page title enhancement for click-thru analysis
Initial Comment:
We are testing several web site analysis services that
allow us to track click-thru behaviors of our visitors.
These services allow you to track/report activity by url
or page title. Since typical php urls make almost no
sense to our sales and marketing people, we have
elected to track our phpwebsite pages by page title. A
great feature of this page-level analysis is that it
provides a single report of information that reveals what
pages are being most heavily accessed and which are
being ignored.
In order to better understand how visitors to sites that
use phpwslistings are viewing and using the sites, I think
that a great enhancement would be for phpwslistings to
update the page title when performing different
functions.
For instance when viewing a specific listing, the page
title could be updated to something along the lines
of "PHPwslistings - Viewing - $title" ($title in this case is
the title element). I personnally would love to be able to
include some custom form elements, but that might get
a bit complicated. I believe that the title would provide
enough information for most situations.
To take this a bit further, I would also like to see
phpwslistings update the page title to reflect what the
user is doing. For instance if the user is doing a search,
have phpwslistings update the page title to reflect that
a search is being executed with the search criteria.
Respectfully Submitted.
