Other then that I love wiki-concept and would love to use it(still not sure if it is going to be Twiki or PhpWiki) also on-line for the Multimedia Institute in Zagreb... that is why I have to test it before even suggesting to my admin to include UNSTABLE package to our admin who keeps our Server in very SAFE and STABLE mode:( Could you try submiting fresh packages to Debian distro anytime in the future? Hi All, Mac OS X theme 1.0 for PhpWiki is here (only in English for now). I finished polishing up the templates and it took me less time than I thought it would, so you have it all tonight. The rest of the buttons are there now too, so we are "go" for launch. Better checkout the whole /themes/MacOSX directory to test it out. If you use Mozilla with any of these PhpWiki themes, you should still be able to select the "PhpWiki", "Printer" or "Modern" stylesheets independently of the chosen theme, by selecting one from the View menu. Notes are in the comments of the themeinfo.php file. Patches, suggestions, complaints all welcome. Email me or post comments, uncomments, etc. on the SF PhpWiki. Carsten |

I've filed a support request with SF, a file I committed a few hours ago still hasn't released it's CVS lock so something has gone wacky. The affected dir is phpwiki/themes/Hawaiian so you might want to avoid it until it's been fixed. Hi, I found a trick at macosxhints.com which allows ProjectBuilder to use SSH. It works with Sourceforge! Check out phpwiki/doc/INSTALL.MacOSX for instructions. Carsten |

Hi Kishore, Welcome, it's nice to have another Mac OS X user helping out. (I actually didn't know that Steve also uses it!) Primarily I'm using Project Builder (from the December devtools) and MacCVS Pro carbon (sourceforge.net/project/maccvspro). There is a PB project file checked in to the CVS as a module named "phpwiki.pbproj" (under /cvsroot/phpwiki), and you can find some notes about using PB with PhpWiki in doc/INSTALL.MacOSX. MacCVS pro is mostly working well but it's not without it's quirks. For one thing it doesn't create local files with the correct modification dates when it downloads files (doesn't cause any problems, just annoying). Sometimes I use the CVS command-line tools. I tried a couple other clients but didn't like their interfaces. Once Project Builder's built-in CVS gets it's bugs ironed out and it supports SSH I'll probably just use it's SCM facilities. Steve mentioned Emacs to me so I've started playing with that a bit. It looks like an excellent program but I haven't been able to get it all working properly ("po mode" works but I can't get php-mode to install, and how to access its menu bar is still a mystery.) For browsers I'm using OmniWeb 4.1b and occasionally Mozilla and iCab. Really haven't used iCab much anymore since upgrading from OS 9, OW is my main browser now. For databases, I'm running mySQL and Postgresql, with CocoaSQL (excellent) and phpMyAdmin 2.2.1. It's good that you brought this up, we should collect this info about the tools we use and add some notes to doc/README.coding. Hi Kishore, I do all my PhpWiki work on Linux and Mac OS X, but primarily on Linux. My main tool is Emacs. With Emacs I get syntax highlighting (with the additional php-mode, available from Sourceforge), shell mode (for running sql clients, very handy), CVS hooks (C-x v v), and many more features that make Emacs a great text based IDE. I have always used Navigator but switched to Mozilla this past year. .9.7 works pretty well. That's really about it. cheers ~swain On Sun, 30 Dec 2001, Kishore Balakrishnan wrote: > Greetings, > > In "Never settle for the best" > (http://www.google.com/corporate/today.html), it is stated ...Give the > proper tools to a group of people who like to make a difference, and > they will... > > I have been using a modified phpwiki behind > http://www.carnatic.com/karmasaya/ since 6 months... Greetings, In "Never settle for the best" (http://www.google.com/corporate/today.html), it is stated ...Give the proper tools to a group of people who like to make a difference, and they will... I have been using a modified phpwiki behind http://www.carnatic.com/karmasaya/ since 6 months... ( text editor under Mac OS X) The recent version 1.3.2 looks much much better... I have Windows XP since a few days and want to contribute to the phpWiki project in some way... I want to get started with the best development environment... I have been searching and could not find a list of (recommended) tools used by phpWiki project members... I would like to see a list of tools that Steve Wainstead et al use to make a difference :-) http://www.itworks.demon.co.uk/phpeditors.htm already lists all the PHP Editors... But, If I get a list from this group... I can start with the one tool used by most members... Thanks. Best Regards, Kishore. -- http://www.carnatic.com |

Oh yes of course! Don't know how I missed that one. :-) Well, in light of this I... reverse my opinion, to keep diff after all. Hi, Some files in the PhpWiki CVS I incorrectly checked in as binary. It's no big deal really, but it turns out the $Id keywords aren't being updated for any files tagged as binary (-kb). I have no idea how to fix this, please help! There are about 20 files, the list is posted at PhpWiki:BinaryFilesInCVS <http://phpwiki.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/BinaryFilesInCVS> Carsten |

Hi, Oh, just no time to look at that patch yet. :-) I know nothing about iso-8859-15, and want to answer for myself some=20 questions about it. (The code which=20 allows accented letters to be used in BumpyWords) - If not all browsers work with iso-8859-15, will it be sufficient to = use=20 € and/or €? Steve, Vergleichen means "to compare". <http://dict.leo.org/?search=vergleichen> The abbreviated form "vgl." looks a little odd to me too, but that may just be my problem because I'm not very familiar with many german abbreviations. I'm not happy with the word diff either, for the same unix-ish reason as you mention. I have already changed the German strings back to diff until we come up with something else.
