Aha, like a linked list? But the comments also say that you cannot
modify a revision, you can only create or delete them, so perhaps this
is a bigger issue?

But I imagined that it should work just like the 'Remove Page' button
that only appears when you're signed in as the administrator. So
normal users shouldn't have access to it.

It would certainly be possible, but there are complications.  The 
previous version points to the new version so not only would the 
revision in question be deleted but the version just prior would have to 
be modified.  It would also have to be an easily disabled function.  I 
certainly don't it to be possible in my project...

Hi everybody,

Today I had my first visit by a WikiVandal - he deleted the content on
a page (I'm pretty sure that it's a "he" because he replaced the
content with the sentence "I'm gay" :-)

Anyway - I've now restored the page. But I couldn't find a way to just
delete the newest revision (the one he had made), and judging from the
comment and code about deleteRevision() in WikiDB.php I'm not
supposed to find such and option...

Why is this? Wouldn't it be natural for the administrator to be able
to delete a revision of a page (even the current revision) if he
doesn't like the content in that revision? It's much easier than
having to copy the text the old revision to a new revision.

Yes, it is 64k, and the data will be truncated, meaning you will lose a 
part of your session data. I had to learn the hard way that this is a 
very nasty bug to track down :)

[Phpwiki-talk] simplify default template

Show only the Edit and Info button.
The Diff, PageHistory and DebugInfo buttons are accessible from the 
info.tmpl page.

Should I give it a try on the demo wiki?

We store only the $user->_pref array which will be for sure smaller than 
64k.

I added now DB_Session support and
updated Pear DB to version 1.3 into CVS. Should be in tomorrows nightly 
snapshot. Todays snapshot has a bug with DB_Session which needed to 
large Pear DB update.

DB_Session needs PEAR DB, ie. DBParams['dbtype'] = 'SQL'. No ADODB yet.
The latest Pear DB is of comparable speed as the old ADODB.

DB_sessions are faster than filebased sessions and probably easier to 
setup. (No common shared /tmp dir needed as on sorceforge.net or other 
larger ISP's with load-balanced servers.)

The mysql session table schema is:

The new PearDB (and PhpWiki 1.3.4) supports now the following databases:

ODBC:       odbc (also for the navision driver)
Oracle 8:   oci8
Microsoft SQL Server: mssql
Mini-SQL:   msql
LDAP:       ldap
Informix:   ifx

Plans:
Missing is "flatfile" and Pear support for DBM.
Testing should be done for all new drivers and CVS. I only tested DBM 
and mysql so far. I will be able to test additionally odbc (plain and 
navision) on Windows and Linux.

UserPreferences needs some minor bugfixes with the session and cookie 
code, which I hope to do this  weekend. When UserAuthentication is 
stable, page based EmailNotification and PagePermissions will be 
implemented.
Then some extensions for PageList, probably something like Pear 
DB_Pager. (That's why it is in CVS now also. If not we can remove it.)

With that change, and the latest code from CVS, I get:

It makes no difference if I unquote 'false'.

I am setting up phpwiki for the first time. I decided to try the
development branch, so I've grabbed the code from CVS and followed
the instructions in the INSTALL and doc/INSTALL.mysql to get it
set up.

When I access http://myhost/mywiki or http://myhost/mywiki/index.php,
I either get a blank screen, or this message:

  Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: db_session in 
  /www/myhost/mywiki/lib/main.php on line 27

Suggestions? Let me know if there's other info that would be helpful.

1) Admin is the only user that is enabled for uploads because PHPWiki 
doesn't have a real user login system in the release versions.  Reini 
Urban has recently commited a "real" user system into CVS.  If able you 
can hack lib/main.php and/or lib/WikiUser.php to enable uploads for 
other users.

2) You can use html by editing lib/plugin/RawHtml.php to 
"define('ENABLE_RAW_HTML', true);", but I would seriously consider NOT 
doing this.  Enabling HTML is very insecure and it means that you will 
lose the ability to control the display of content.  Encourage your 
users to learn wiki -- it is really easy and should provide most of what 
they need.

You have to wait a little bit.
Yesterday's commits fixed the locale issues, but introduced new minor 
problems with the FileFinder class on linux.

Is there any way to enable file uploads for other than admin
through WikiForm.php or some other script?
A friend pointed me to this non-working URL:
http://pro-pos.sourceforge.net/wiki/upload.php
Can upload.php be used and is it available for download?

I can't find a place to enable html tags in the version I'm
running: PHPWIKI_VERSION', '1.3.2-jeffs-hacks' through index.php.
I assume it is better to forget html in wiki. Some of my users
have asked about this feature since the online helpfiles say
this is possible.

I always get confused with these different time zones.
(Sorry, as you know, european countries usually have
 only one time zone, so I don't have to think
 about time zones...)

But perhaps it would be possible to have a link on such a time
tag pointing to a table page allowing instant conversion?

Still nicer would be such a "fingertip", as it is known for the ALT text
of an image, which display a the time as world time or even better uses
the user preferences (as soon as we have some)
to translate it to local time.

As far a I remember, these fingertips can be created
for arbitrary html elements using the following code

<span name="time in reader's local format"> russian time code </span>

But I don't know if this is compatible (That is, if each browser
actually displays this as a fingertip).

Of course one could add a time image (say a clock) and use the
ALT text, but there is also the problem whether this is always
displayed as a small help window.
