Hello. I'm looking for a handler for the whois.corporatedomains.com registrar. They handle the big global brands like pg.com. Is there a handler database somewhere (besides what comes in the main tarball)? Is anyone willing to write a handler? |

Hello David, I am using PHPWhois for a project at work, where I have to do ASN, domain and NIC-handle lookups. Studying the code I found out that all IP and ASN searches are done with ARIN whois server as a first try. Then depending on the response from ARIN, you decide which Registrar to query later. That is ok for IPs, since ARIN is able to give you the right registrar for any IP, but it doesn't work with ASNs. The ARIN server only knows its own ASNs. I have decided to make a dedicated ASN handler, using another primary server, like RIPE, who actually can give you the registrar assignated to any ASN. When I have it working, I can send you the patch or upload it to sourceforge. Thank you for your work in the project. Best regards, Marcos. |

I've been using phpwhois for about a year and all was working well until recently. The domain look up for *.com are very very slow. After investigating I think I discoverd the problem with: // Network Solutions registry server in whois.main.php var $NSI_REGISTRY = "whois.nsiregistry.net"; And whois.nsiregistry.net doesn't work when I try to pull it up in my browser. Perhaps whois.nsiregistry.net should not be accessible over http. Please help me understand what I need to do to ensure the looks up are fast as they used to be. Thanks, -- Gil...@Po... Hello I think i found 2 bugs in whois.parser.php and in whois.de.php In whois.parser.php: If i make a request for "timesoft.pl", then it shows me a PHP runtime error. I found out, there is a control for an empty array missing. This is my solution: function generic_parser_b ( $rawdata, $items, $dateformat='mdy', $hasreg=true, $scanall=false ) { $r=''; $disok=true; ++ if (is_array($rawdata)) while (list($key,$val)=each($rawdata)) { if (trim($val)!='') { In whois.de.php If i make a request for a de-domain then the skript cant find the nameserver. I found out, there is a fault definition for the items from the nameserver. This is my solutions: $items = array( 'domain.name' => 'Domain:', -- 'domain.nserver' => 'Nserver', ++ 'domain.nserver.' => 'Nserver:', 'domain.status' => 'Status:', 'domain.changed' => 'Changed:', Then, i have written a new handler for .sc domains. Is it okay to send them through this list?, or is there another mailadress? Okay and thank you for the good script!!! Kind regards Hans-Peter Kohnle P.S.: Sorry for my bad english ;-) |

Also, I think a handler for (some?) .edu domains is missing, try mit.edu for example. Hello, everyone. I'm writing a DNSBL management system that'll make extensive use of phpwhois. I'm adding a handler for .pl domains (will send later) and the format is so atypical that I've written my own parser instead of using any of those found in whois.parser.php. Basically it has some blocks, but data within the blocks is RPSL-style except for nserver list and registrar's data. While doing that, I've encountered a bug that caused the nserver array to always contain only the last nameserver and only as a ["" => hostname] pair. It took me over half an hour to figure this one out. Patch attached. -- The Fremen were supreme in that quality the ancients called "spannungsbogen" -- which is the self-imposed delay between desire for a thing and the act of reaching out to grasp that thing. -- from "The Wisdom of Muad'Dib" by the Princess Irulan |

Hi everyone, I created a new GPL package - Speedy Whois for Webmasters. It is based on the phpWhois class. The purpose is to make it easier for webmasters to install phpWhois, and also to create a better GUI for the website. I also started a new project on sourceforge - speedywhois. Currently I released version 0.0.1: http://www.speedywhois.com/webmasters/ You are welcome to look at it and install if you want to. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know. You can also write me directly. If you install it, please let me know if it works or not. I also found out about a security issue in phpWhois. I will submit it as a feature request. I've kind of stopped developing phpwhois now, so I haven't got a source directory handy, but from memory I recall we changed it to do an initial DNS lookup on 'whois-servers.net' (or something).
